Helsinki Loves Developers: Reducing the energy consumption of buildings with open data
Helsinki Loves Developers – Reducing the energy consumption of buildings with open data
Welcome to learn and discuss about open energy consumption data!
Did you know that three quarters of energy consumption in Helsinki is caused by the heating of buildings and electricity consumption in housing? It is obvious that we need to save energy in our society. We need to find new solutions regarding the heating of buildings, electricity consumption and we also need to consider opportunities to produce electricity with sustainable solutions. But how much energy are the different types of buildings actually using? And how much energy could be generatedby solar energy technologies, for instance?
There is a lot of interesting information about this topic, such as building-specific energy consumption data, basic information about every building, as well as renovation information etc.! Some of this information is already available as open data and there is more to come. So we have lots of data but how could we use it more efficiently and provide benefits for both individuals and the whole society?
Welcome to this open meetup to learn and discuss more about open energy consumption data and also to share your ideas on how to utilize data, in order to enhance the energy efficiency at home or in public buildings – or to discuss possible business cases.
