Digitransit - free and open source journey planner for cities

Digitransit is a new open source journey planner platform lead by Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL). With its mobile-first approach and top notch quality, it has already gained momentum. For example the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration have deployed their own instances. It took MTA just one week to deploy a localized beta version of their own.

Here are some of the known services based on Digitransit:
– Helsinki: reittiopas.fi (Switch to English from top right)
– New York beta: planmytrip.nyc
– Norway beta: dit.no

Read the technical documentation (digitransit.fi/en/developers/) and try the software (github.com/hsldevcom/digitransit) with zero bureaucracy.
